The London Olympics is the most sustainable yet. One step closer to a greener planet is minimising the amount of plastic bottles we use. By purchasing the knowledge fountain bottle you can be part of this and make a difference to the environment.

Throughout the city you can find fountains supplying tap water. This is clean and healthy water so feel free to refill your bottle at these points and be pointed in new directions by what the locals say.

The bottle can then tell you if you have been drinking amount water as well as remembering where you have been. Try and go to as many refreshment points as you can and when you return to the main hob (centred in Stratford) it will personate your bottle. Your bottle will get the mark of where you have been and attractions around there. And if you go to all the refreshment points something special will happen!

Bringing elements together

Hi Know we haven't used the blog much but as we are getting close to the deadline now it would be nice to get hold of the different parts of the project (even though we are not finished yet) on the blog. I think this would help us knowing what everyone is doing.

I'm now focusing on how it all work, bringing our different elements together. How the consumer/ users journey would look like. Why they should buy this bottle and how they would benefit from it. Focusing on both the refreshing of knowledge and water.

I'm thinking of showing it though a film, animation or something like that.

For the touchscreen I will leave that to the graphic people, but I have found a way of making touchscreen/surfaces work with projected areas around the whole exhibition area by having backlight projected on the touch surfaces that can then work together with projectors in the ceiling. here is a link if you want to find out more about touch-surfaces: http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/1982/

It is now 01:30 am and we've just finished editing. We do however find a moral issue about posting our film online as I realised, when Andrea pointed out, that we don't actually have permission by the people in the film to publish it.. Think it should be ok if we upload it directly to the blogg rather then YouTube don't you think?

Olympics legacy Tom Brake MP comments follow the successful Evening Standard Water on Tap campaign, which called for London restaurants to offer customers free tap water as a matter of course.

More than 3,000 restaurants and businesses signed up to the campaign. Sale of bottle water has already dropped.

Mr Brake believes the Olympics would provide the perfect showcase for the capital’s tap water.

“Everyone wants the 2012 Games to be the most sustainable on record. It must mean free non-bottled water for all visitors. Otherwise the discarded bottles will stretch to the moon and back.
